The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is proving that a world-class education doesn't have to come with a global price tag. Through its robust alumni network and innovative career development programs, UNC is empowering its graduates to make an impact on the world stage.

The latest example? UNC's "Alumni in Global Careers" career panel, which showcased three remarkable alumni who have forged paths in diverse, internationally-focused roles. From government service to sustainability entrepreneurship, these Bears are demonstrating the boundless potential of a UNC education.

Adrianne George: Safeguarding Communities Worldwide

Adrianne George, a UNC alumna, is a strategic leader in homeland security and crisis management. In her current role as a Homeland Security Planner for the Charlotte Fire Department, she directs critical initiatives to ensure the resilience and preparedness of a region serving over 3 million residents. Her experience managing high-profile cybersecurity exercises and overseeing multi-million dollar grant allocations has equipped her to drive effective business continuity strategies, according to the UNC Alumni Office.

"Adrianne's ability to anticipate threats, coordinate real-time incident responses, and continuously improve operations ensures organizational readiness in the face of disruptions," the UNC profile states. "She has a passion for security and ensuring the safety of all stakeholders."

Bill Bobbitt: Sustainable Solutions for a Greener Future

Bill Bobbitt, another UNC graduate, has spent his career building businesses that improve consumers' lives while promoting sustainable behavior. After studying abroad in Shanghai as a Phillips Ambassador, Bobbitt graduated with degrees in Environmental Science and Chemistry. He then joined the prestigious Boston Consulting Group, where he now serves as the Global Product Senior Director for GenAI.

"Bill has a passion for security and ensuring the safety of all stakeholders," said the UNC Alumni Association. "His experience managing crisis programs and overseeing multi-million dollar grant allocations has equipped him to drive effective business continuity strategies."

Kelsey Aho: Bridging Cultures, Expanding Opportunities

Kelsey Aho, a 2014 UNC graduate, is making her mark in the realm of global development. After earning a BA in Geography and studying Serbo-Croatian, she led a multilateral Davis Peace Project in Southeast Europe and spent a year in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, Aho is applying her cross-cultural expertise and passion for international cooperation as a Program Manager at a leading global development organization.
